EU AI Act

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.

How we read it

The European Union’s AI Regulation (EU AI Act) creates a single, risk-based framework for the use of artificial intelligence. We welcome that framework: it matches our conviction that good digitalisation has to be responsible, traceable and oriented towards the common good.

Risk-based approach

For every AI application we build, we assess the risk in the sense of the EU AI Act and derive suitable measures from it. We do not implement applications involving prohibited practices. For higher-risk systems we pay particular attention to transparency, data quality and human oversight.

Our principles

  • Human oversight: AI supports decisions but does not replace human responsibility.
  • Transparency: users know when and how AI is being used.
  • Data quality & fairness: we work to avoid bias and to make results verifiable.
  • Security & data protection: AI systems are designed in line with the GDPR and applicable law.
  • Traceability: we document how our systems work and where their limits are.

Building competence

We foster an understanding of the opportunities and limits of AI - internally as well as at the organisations we work with. That is how we make sure AI applications are used responsibly in everyday practice.
